How it works

From stewardship toserialized value.

01

Certify

Project developers submit water-saving initiatives against approved regional methodologies — from drip irrigation to industrial reuse.

02

Verify

Independent, accredited third parties validate every claimed cubic metre in the field before anything is issued.

03

Issue

Unique, serialized Aqua Credits are minted on the registry — one credit for every verified cubic metre of water saved.

04

Trade

A transparent ledger connects buyers and sellers, with full provenance and chain of custody on every single credit.

Why it matters

The region cannotwait for water.

MENA is the most water-stressed region on Earth — and until now, it has had no shared market instrument that rewards saving water. The registry exists to change that. Those who join early don't just watch the market form. They form it.

01

Scarcity is already priced in

The World Bank projects water scarcity could cost MENA economies 6–14% of GDP by 2050 — the highest exposure of any region. Every cubic metre saved today is measurable risk removed from that ledger. Aqua Credits turn that saving into an asset you can hold, trade, and report.

02

ESG capital needs a credible instrument

Corporates across the Gulf are making net-positive water pledges, and national agendas like Saudi Vision 2030 put water security at their core. What's missing is a verified, serialized unit of water stewardship they can buy. The registry supplies exactly that — with independent verification behind every credit.

03

Founding members set the rules

Carbon markets rewarded those who arrived before the standards hardened. As a founding investor, listed project, or accredited consultant, you co-shape methodologies with the Aqua Credit Council, secure priority positions in first issuances, and put your name on the market's foundation stone.

Governance & trust

Overseen by theAqua Credit Council.

A multi-stakeholder council of regulators, hydrologists, financiers, and civil-society representatives governs every methodology, accreditation, and issuance on the registry.

“Trust is the true currency of any registry. Ours is earned one verified cubic metre at a time.”

Council decisions, methodology updates, and issuance records are published openly — every stakeholder can audit the system that safeguards their capital and credibility.

1

Methodology

Science-based protocols define how water savings are measured for each project class — from drip irrigation to desalination brine recovery.

2

Verification

Accredited independent consultants audit each project on the ground before a single credit is issued.

3

Transparent Ledger

Every credit carries a unique serial number and a public chain of custody from issuance to retirement.
